| I have a lot of boxes at my apartment, and I like having them to store things in. I am a packrat. But, I also hate having cardboard boxes laying around, so I decided I could decorate them with pictures cut out of magazines (it will give me a chance to get rid of the old magazines, too!) But my only problem is I am not sure what to use as an adhesive. If I use glue, the pictures stand a chance of ripping at the edges and wearing off. If I cover it in tape, it wont look that good anymore. Does anyone have any ideas of how to do this to make it look the best? Thanks! | |

| Crafts are popular as a hobby or to give as gifts, or even to sell. I love to knit and crochet. I make hats, scarves, and dish clothes to give as gifts. I also enjoy sketching, and making silk-flower arrangements. Some I keep, some I sell, and many I give as gifts. Once for Christmas, I made each of my daughters a rag doll from scratch, including sewing wardrobes for them. They are grown, but still have their hand-made dolls. Now, I am getting into scrapbooking. I love learning. What arts and crafts do you enjoy? What do you usually do with your finished projects? | |

| I have heard some talk about how and what to charge for handmade items here on MyLot. I used to deal with this and kept my prices low and my products high quality, but still seldom even got any sales so I know it is hard to do. Many times articles tell you the "how to's" and it sounds great and workable, but out there in the real world, off the printed paper, it is always different. But gathering as much info as possible to help you make your decision is the only way we can make good decisions so, I came across this article with several additional articles with tips for pricing your hand made crafts for bazzars and craft shows and probalby even use the tips for selling crafts on Ebay, that you might get some ideas from to help your pricing quandries! http://artsandcrafts.about.com/od/arti4/a/032507.htm | |

| I started an etsy shop a few years ago and did well towards the end of having my store open. It took a long time to get sales, and it was very frustrating trying to promote my work (and find time to make it!). I haven't updated my shop ever since my last sale closed about a year ago. Lately I've been thinking about re-opening. I worry that I'll face the same frustrations, though.Do you sell your arts and crafts on etsy.com? | |

| Why is it, if I like something, they take it off TV? I know I like unusual things, but this is ridiculous! Christmas is coming and people need to learn crafts in this economy. I was watching Creative Juices, Carol Duval, From Junky to Funky, and one where they search the US to find crafters. There was another one, too, only on Fridays, this woman and a friend had a workshop and they made all kinds of stuff. Every day between 12 noon and 2pm Eastern Time, I watched craft shows. Now only Martha Stewart Living is still one. That was such a beautiful couple of hours of my life every day! I have a rough time learning from books. There is always a discription I don't understand and half of the still life pictures aren't all that seeable. These shows were great! I could see how they did things. I could see if I had the skills and materials to start a project. Please respond to any of the following: Have they taken any shows off TV that you liked? Do you watch craft shows or DIY? Have you learned anything from a TV show that worked well in real life for you? Are there any other craft shows that I might be able to watch? Have you watched craft videos? Are there any good craft videos or... | |

| So I am looking at this scrap booking book and I must say -- I don't even want to get startedThe book makes me feel so self conscious of my abilities that I can't imagine getting close to their unfathomable superiority... It seriously looks like a graphic designer put that book together one weekend and decided to make a mockery and label it -- "easy scrapbooking" just to get a kick as people flocked to it in bitter disappointment.Has this ever happened to you? | |

| What are your favorite arts and crafts you liked learning as a kid and still do now? For me there were so many different ones I either learned in grammar school or later in life:Weaving- I started out with the small loom with the sock loops then upgraded to a small weaving machine with yarn when about 10.Origami-I learned this after watching Shari Lewis on Lambchop's Play along make a box and heart. I had did those two patterns plus made a bird, airplane, house, and a giraffe.Beading: I learned this in school first then start making cute bracelets that had my name.Scoubidoos: The girls I went to school with, made these for their keychains.Knitting and Crocheting: I know this actually would come under needlecraft. I learned this in my early 20s and learned how to do coasters, granny squares etc. | |
