| The Old Testament is filled with numerous stories of animal and
human sacrifice. God, we are told, likes the pleasing aroma of
burning flesh.
Genesis, the first book of the Bible, has Abraham preparing to
sacrifice his son to God."Take your son, your only son – yes,
Isaac, whom you love so much – and go to the land of Moriah.
Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains,
which I will point out to you." (Genesis 22:1-18) Abraham takes his
own son up on a mountain and builds an altar upon which to burn him.
He even lies to his son and has him help build the altar. Then
Abraham ties his son to the altar and puts a knife to his throat. He
then hears God tell him this was just a test of his faith. However,
God still wanted to smell some burnt flesh so he tells Abraham to
burn a ram.Even though he didn't kill his son, it is still an incredibly
cruel and evil thing to do. If Abraham did that today he would be in
jail serving a long sentence as someone's prison-beeotch. It amazes me
how Christians see this story as a sign of God's love. There is no

| Its so much fun going carol singing. I've been getting back home at 12 for da past week. We have a youth group in my church n we went caroling to all the youth members house. We had one of them dressed as Santa, 3 guitarist, one on da congas,n tambourine all set out singin on the streets wishin everybody n giving away sweets to all da little ones.. N then we sang at all da members house. Had plenty of snacks, wine, plum cakes, etc.. The best thing we actually long distance and I feel I've burnt a little fat in my body. Well Its a lot more fun that words jus can express. We covered over 75 houses n we're done now. Goinng carol singin brightens the spirit of christmas. | Nursery school children rejoice in making music with their agemates and respond with enthusiasm to rhythmic activities. Favourite rhythm instruments are a hand drum, maracas, musical triangle with striker, tambourine wrist bells, xylophone, tone block with striker, autoharp etc. | |

| Do you think a monkey (or gorilla) could learn to play a musical instrument? I think one could definitely be trained to, and I don't mean just giving it treats for banging on a drum or shaking a tambourine, I mean like playing piano, an entire drumkit, or maybe even a guitar/bass. It probably couldn't be a brass or woodwind instrument, but a string or percussion instrument might just work.Sure, maybe it sounds far-fetched (and it is), but if gorillas can be taught to spell small 3 letter words, or even sign language (whoah!!!), then I bet you could teach one to play some music.What though, of a primate's ability to compose? Do you think that they would be able to write something that wasn't just noise (even if it sounded like noise to our ears, if there was some kind of consistency to what they did, some kind of organization or deliberate purpose it would count)?That last part I do think might be too much, but I'm not sure. | What music instrument can you play and would you love to learn how to play? Lemme know your answers, music lovers!!I can play the piano/organ. I started taking piano lessons
when I was in grade 3 but I stopped already because I got bored. I played a few songs at church but I don't like playing now because I always get nervous. They let me handle the tambourine instead because i can play with the beat of the song.^_^ I would love to play the piano again, but I also want to learn how to play the drums and guitar. Unfortunately, my fingers are short (especially my pinkie!!T-T) for guitars..T-T | |

I think those words are beautiful and I get choked up anytime I listen to that song. No one writes songs about anything as cool as a "magic swirling ship" anymore.

After working with Gwen Stefani, Amerie, Kelly Rowland,... she began to make new songs on her own.
Her new album "Here I Am" drops September 18th.
