Which book are you reading at present?
ReAding fiction books is one of my favourite past times. I am reading P.S I Love You at present. Which book are you reading and do you recommend it?
is this indeed the saddest book ever published? (silly)
http://www.spreadthefword.com/2010/03/saddest-book-ever.htmlMicrowave Cooking for One!From the appearance of the cover (hair, clothes, appliance), this book is from the late 70s/early 80s when microwave cooking was more of a novelty than it is today. Today it's taken for granted, and sometimes considered sad and lonely! But the woman appears thrilled at her microwave conoisseur status!
Don't judge a book by its cover!
Don't judge people on what they are wearing on top. What do say if people always judge you because of your image? What will you do if people have bad perception on you?
a great book about jesus
Hi lotters and as we are approaching Holy Week I wanted to share a book I have been reading during this lent season. It is called Jesus: A Novel by Walter Wangerin Jr. It is the story of Jesus and not like the De Vinci Code BS. This is the true story of Jesus told from when He was born until that glorious day He died on the cross and rose again in three days for all of our sins. The author uses a lot of The Bible in it what he adds to it is the emotional feelings of Mary, Jesus, Joesph, etc. I will give you one example I don't want to give anything away. As you recall when Jesus was a boy He went to the temple. Mary and Joesph couldn't find him. The way the author writes it he lets you know how scared Mary and Joesph were and how they were running around and up to people asking them if they had seen their son. This is a very moving book and it really captures not only the love God and Jesus has for us but also the love this author has for God and Jesus as well. You can feel how strong this man's faith is. It really speaks to your heart. I was going to put this in the reading interest but it is so moving and powerful I think this is the perfect interest to put it in....
Publishing a book: Is it really that hard? Help me out!
I've searched throughout the internet about publishing my novel, but now I'm doubting whether I should try at all. I've heard you need to pay agents A LOT of money to get your book on the top of the stack with some publishers. And that isn't even a guarantee that it will get your book published. So after the years you've put into your precious work, you come to find out that some companies won't even read it. Even if they do read it, they expect you to hire even more services to "fix" your book. I don't know if I should waste time and effort on something that I might not reap the benefits of. There is also the self-publishing way of doing things, but I've heard it is more of a hassle than anything, since you have to advertise your own novel and most self-publishing companies (websites) tend to be malevolent. It is understandable since it should be the opposite in reality. (You getting paid to publish)What are your thoughts or opinions on this? For now, I've decided the best way is to probably use some free service to publish my book online as an E-Book instead. And then, if I get enough attention, I'll start charging for some of my stories. Any advice from authors or people...
Book or movie??
I read the book "The Da Vinci Code" about three years ago. I think it is an excellent book. Its scenario attracted me a lot and I was even frightened by that. Several days ago I watched the movie shot according to this book, and I was a little disappointed by that movie. I think the movie didn't express the scenarios of the book very well. So what do you think about it? Movie or book, which do you like better?
Are you in habbit of writing!do you write your GOLDEN BOOK??
Friends do we know excatly what we want in life what exactly we want?do all of you write on the Golden Book of your life with respect your aims, achievements, what do you want your daily routine!and do you move accordingly!the crystal, clear concepts of life do you all know what exactly we want in the life??are your concepts clear!
holy blood holy grail- A book every christian should read
This is a book that needs to be read by every christian to gain another perspective about the largest and the most popular religion in the world. The book is not against christianity as such but just raises a lot of questions about the religion which might be intresting to explore...
Movie: Book of Eli
Have you seen the movie entitled "Book of Eli"...I watched it 2 days ago and I forgot to start a discussion about it. Its a nice movie. It is about faith and the Holy Bible. At first I didn't know that the book is the Bible because i didn't see the trailer of the movie. What do you think of this movie?
Have you ever published a book?
I should have asked this in the first place, because as I am asking other questions about this subject, I am finding out that there is so much more than I knew. For instance, I knew I need an editor, for I am not comfortable without a pro to check it out for mistakes I may not consider. (It has been over 25 years since I been to school) And of course a publisher is needed, for I have no idea how to put my story into book form. Now I find I may need a literary agent because most publishers won't accept work without one..So if you ever had something published, did you use all three or is there more help I need? As a first time writer who hasn't written in years, I can use all the help I can get.
